BarCampTexas

Just saw this kickass poster design on the BarCamp blog, very cool. BarCampTexas is this weekend at Thistle Cafe (downtown location). innerTee is providing a few tees for the shindig and it should be a great event with folks from all over the state making the trip.

For more info visit the BarCampTexas site.

copycamp – for artists & geeks with money

CopyCamp

Saw this on Boing Boing late last night, looks pretty interesting. What is it? CopyCamp is…

“An unconference for artists about the Internet and the challenge to copyright”

Sounds like a really good idea, wish we could make the trip up to Toronto. In true BarCamp fashion they are following the ‘unconference’ rules of everyone that attends is expected to contribute. Of course not in BarCamp fashion is that you have to pay $700 to attend, seems a bit steep although they are offering subsidies to artists and other worthy ‘creators’. It seems like they are trying to seperate the corp types from the true artists & designers by requiring such a high entry fee.

Either way I’m interested to see what comes out of this and wish them the best of luck.

update: Chris Messina posted a good overview of the BarCamp vs CopyCamp model on the barCamp blog titled CopyCamp and exclusivity. Be sure to check out the comments for an explaination of what the CopyCamp guys are using the money for – makes sense.

someone loves us… almost

// August 17th, 2006 // 3 Comments » // General

Well now, the guys over at The Museum of Modern Betas have a Most Anticipated list and innerTee is ranked a lowly #32.

I demand a recount!

The list shows a massive 29 people that have bookmarked us on del.icio.us (how the rankings are compiled) under the http://innertee.com bookmark. HOWEVER, if you combine that with the 67 other people that have us bookmarked here, here and here – then it moves us up to a much more respectable #11. Almost top ten material. Now we’re cooking.

I’m not exactly sure what any of this means other than I need more sleep but I’m pretty sure its something big that is going to catapult us to fame & fortune. Or at least the top ten.. come on people… geez!!

viva la revolution

// August 16th, 2006 // 1 Comment » // Fashion & Tees

Great post today at fashion.psfk about the ongoing online t-shirt revolution. Alex Singh from etc. is doing a 3 part series interviewing some of the hottest “web 2.0 fashion companies” about how they are setup and running their businesses, very cool stuff. Alex also has a blog called Flavour Comes First that covers the etc. line as well as general issues on the everchanging fashion & retail market.

The first interview is posted here and is with Sydney based People Like Us. Its a good read and one thing I find interesting from Threadless down to the smallest new lable is the focus on design. Everyone has an artists program and is working with a talented group of designers. It’s the same philosophy we are using for innerTee as we build our community.

I think for those of us addicited to cool, kickass t-shirts & designs its win-win. More shirts, more choices and more opportunitiy to support the people that are doing the actual design work.

testing – FINALLY!

// August 14th, 2006 // No Comments » // General

That’s right kids – we are finally testing! Switching over to our new box was WAY more of a pain than we thought but the gang over at Devtanc really went above & beyond to get it done. We are fixing a ton of bugs this week and should be sending out our first batch of user accounts in the next week or so.

Now if I could only get some sleep… right…
