innerTee

Andy over at HYA has written up a great review of the InnerTee shirt he received during our private beta. We didn’t bribe him (too much) but we really appreciate it!

Blu ::: Lost in Central America

blu

Italian artist Blu and a few friends are taking a soul searching journey across Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Argentina filming a documentary about the street art scene in each country. They’ve created a pretty cool journal/blog to document the entire trip. They also have some interesting concepts on how the finished product will offer different perspectives from the trip:

When the film will be done, we want to create a package that contains a book and a dvd. Since Blu will keep an illustrated diary of the trip, the main section of the book will include the reproduction of the pages of the diary. An other part will showcase pics from the travel and a selection of recent and older wall pieces. The dvd will contain the documentary. What we think will be interesting is that the viewer will have the possibility to have a different perspective of the experience, either with the film or with the diary, that will show how Blu got inspired by situations and interpreted them in his own unique way. Don’t expect anything traditional, neither common or already seen.. this is going to be something you’ve never seen.. actually it’s something we’ve never seen ourselves!

Should be pretty interesting! (via Wooster Collective)

Hitten Switches ::: Fudge Factory Comics

HItten Switches

SWEET! I recently ordered the art book Hitten Switches by Travis Millard and Michael Sieben from Fudge Factory Comics. Its really a cool project as the two artists exchanged sketches for about a year. That turned into a b&w zine and with the help of the Volcom Art Loft into the book you see here as well as a international art show with stops in New York, LA, Toyko and Okay Mountain right here in Austin.

Almost as cool as the book are the lame..err cool freebies you get. Makin’Babies with Mother Earthc flower seeds, the FFC gets the lead out pencil, FFC is just teasing comb and my favorite the FFC matchbook with one match and ‘use this wisely’ printed on the back inside cover – classic!

Stickylou.com ::: online sticker boutique

stickylou.com

Paris based Stickylou.com is now live & kicking. This is a new site (similar to innerTee) selling stickers from well known street artists. I like the selection of hand-cut DIY stickers as well as dye cut sheets of 10+ stickers – very cool. The sitcker packs run from 7-11 euros and they offer worldwide shipping.

The site design is pretty clean as well, created by Rumbero Design, also out of Paris. Headups to French’N'Fresh.

OKMT

The cool kids over at Okay Mountain, a local gallery here in Austin, have gotten their online store up and running and its full of kickass goodies. You can purchase any of the available art that’s on display in their current exhibition, Droppin’ Drawers as well as other limited edition zines, prints and OKMT merch.

The gallery is only open on Wed evening and Sat afternoon but its worth it if you can make it over. The artwork featured above is part of the Droppin’ Drawers show, drawn by Adam Janes and on sale for $210.

Our friends here in town over at Test1Studios just got a good write-up on Postbubble on their new web service SnapPages, congrats! The Test1 crew is a pretty talented bunch and their app is pretty sharp – I’ve been messing around with it for a while now and it just keeps getting better, keep up the great work!

300% Cotton – out soon

// October 18th, 2006 // 1 Comment » // Design, Fashion & Tees

300% Cotton

300% Cotton, the latest installment from Helen Walters, is about to hit the shelves. There are a few preview pages available on the Fl@33 site (who designed the cover and layout for all three books). If you aren’t familar with 100% Cotton or 200% Cotton then you should feel ashamed! Published by Laurence King out of the UK they are must haves for anyone down with the ‘t-shirt revolution’.

Looking at Borders & Amazon looks like the US pub date is Oct 28th. Can’t wait! Also, if you are a total T-nerd you can checkout some of the other t-shirt books I’ve mentioned before.

Alternative Fall Magalog

Alternative Apparel

The new magalogs are here! Ok, doesn’t roll off the tounge but the new Fall catalog from Alternative Appparel is one of the best we’ve seen from our apparel vendors. Not only does Alternative have some sweet new styles (I’m digging the argyle stuff & will be on innerTee soon) but the concept of a magazine meets catalog is pretty cool. Even more so in an industry full of really lame catalogs and apparel that screams ‘corporate casuals’… BLEEECK!

Alternative is pretty involved in the art & design scene as they are currently sponsoring the MODA t-shirt exhibit (see previous post) and they even have a celebrity page for all you groupies out there.

You can request a magalog on their site here or download it (its 35MB but worth it).

Dope stuff at ADD

Hello buckle

We keep meeting more cool people through our myspace profile and this week its A Dope Distribution. They have the usual gear but the hello buckle and spray can pillows really jumped out at me. The hello buckle comes with a velour bag and an area for you to add your own custom tag. The pillows come in six different cap colors and even have a real spray can sound when you shake them!

ADD is a part of DISSIZIT, the latest effort from graffiti legend SLICK (Third Rail, Fuct).
